Profile

The Humber Bridge Board (HBB) is responsible for the management and operation of the Humber crossing which allows 6.5 million vehicles per year to cross over the Humber estuary near Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The main feature of the crossing is the Humber bridge, a 2.2 kilometre long suspension bridge with a main span of 1,410 metres which when it was opened in 1981 was the longest bridge span in the world. Now occupying fifth place in the world list of long spans, Humber remains the longest span which can be crossed on foot or bicycle.
